Have you ever been talking with someone at a party and after telling them a thing or two about yourself, you became acutely aware that they couldn’t care less about you or anything you have to say?

The person’s body language, non-verbal cues, and lack of response probably made you feel something between ignored and insulted and no matter how you’d describe the experience, it certainly wouldn’t be categorized as a positive interaction.

Why?

One person was engaged and willing to participate and the other person was apathetic and distant.

Certainly, most of us would never choose to act this way. We want those we are speaking with, no matter the context of the conversation, to feel as though they are being heard.

But what if something was undermining that objective?

Consider the fact that your untreated hearing loss may be responsible for two significant problems related to the daily exchange of words we all enjoy.

The first issue is that you may not be getting the whole story.

In other words, it’s highly likely that you are missing out on key words and phrases while participating in conversation. This makes it incredibly difficult for you to pay attention and if you can’t pay attention, you will miss out on EVEN MORE of the information being communicated. Besides the obvious trouble this creates, it may have an unintended side effect that you haven’t considered. This leads us to our second problem

It’s possible that the people around you may feel ignored, insulted, or even worse when speaking with you.

The fact that you can’t hear them well means you can’t respond well and they may be offended by your off subject responses or by your lack of response altogether.

And who can blame them?

So even though you aren’t intentionally alienating your friends, family, and co-workers, etc. you may be doing so by refusing to treat your hearing loss.

The good news is that you can do something about this. You can make a change.

Don’t let hearing loss affect your life and your relationships in a negative way.

Come in today for a hearing test and stop missing out on the things that are important to you.

We refuse to settle for less than the best and we hope you will do the same.
