Hearing Conservation &
Occupational Hearing Services
Noise is one of the most common causes of hearing loss, and one of the most common occupational illnesses in the United States. Repeated exposures to loud machinery may, over an extended period of time, present serious risks to human hearing. In fact:
- 10 million Americans have already suffered irreversible hearing damage from noise exposure;
- 30 million are exposed to dangerous noise levels each day;
- The effects of noise on hearing are often underestimated because the damage takes place so gradually.
An effective Hearing Conservation Program (HCP) can prevent hearing loss as a result of noise exposure and damage. At Woodard Hearing Centers we can assist you in making sure your HCP provides the protection your organization needs in ensuring a safe workplace environment. We do this by offering the following services:
- baseline and annual hearing tests
- evaluation of audiograms to determine Standard Threshold Shift (STS)
- recommendations on protective measures for the individual/organization to take
- reviews and determination of work-relatedness hearing loss provided by credentialed Audiologists in hearing conservation services.
All services are provided in accordance with OSHA hearing conservation standards. We can compile and maintain your organization’s data, provide a comprehensive report on individual and organizational outcomes, perform on-site testing, and provide a review of the data by an Audiologist who holds certification as a Professional Supervisor of the Audiometric Monitoring Component of Hearing Conservation Programs. Services are billed based on a fee-per-individual test/review. At Woodard Hearing Centers we can customize our services to meet your hearing conservation/occupational hearing health needs.
